The Jotunheimen trail stretches through gentle forests and over rugged, largely untouched mountain landscapes with fantastic views!
North of Lemonsjøen we head west towards Gjende and Jotunheimen National Park on well groomed trails. With a little luck you will see moose or reindeer crossing your tracks. Take your time and enjoy the enchanting landscape and incredible silence.
Along the route you will spend the night in traditional, family-run hostels. On the way you will also spend the night in fairytale cabins of Sjodalen Hyttetun – A very special experience!
In addition to Norwegian hospitality, exceptional culinary experiences await you. With ingredients such as moose, reindeer, venison or trout, you will be served authentic dishes – let yourself be surprised!
You don’t have to worry about your luggage, the luggage transport is included in the tour price, as well as breakfast, packed lunch and dinner.
This trip mixes the best of a trail experience and on-site enjoyment: you are in one place for the first three days, then walk along the trail to a second hotel, stay there for two more nights. The next day you follow the trail again and stay the last two nights in a third hotel. This way you will have the opportunity to get to know the Norwegian hospitality more intensively than ever for just one night – and at the same time gather impressions from different places of this wonderful route tour.
Requirements/distance
> The tour runs at an altitude of about 850 – 950 m.
> The entire Jotunheimen trail is groomed almost daily during the season by a trail machine or snowmobile and can be skied with normal classic cross-country skis.
> You should be a normally experienced cross-country skier and be able to handle the distances given in a slightly mountainous terrain.

Equipment
> For cross-country skiing we recommend the wider touring skis with half steel edges.
> You can rent the cross-country skiing equipment from us (incl. return transfer). Please specify when booking.
Arrival / Transfer
Included in the tour price is the following transfer to and from Oslo Gardermoen Airport:
Arrival: Oslo Gardermoen – Lemonsjøen
> Train Oslo Gardermoen to Otta
> Transportation from Otta to Lemonsjøen by hotel bus / cab
Departure: Bessheim – Oslo Gardermoen
> Transfer from Bessheim to Otta by bus / cab
> Train ride Otta to Oslo Gardermoen

Arrival by car / ferry
If you would like to travel by car, the Colorline ferry mini-cruise from Kiel to Oslo is a great option.
We will be happy to make you a package offer for the trip including ferry crossing. The drive from Oslo to the hotel takes about 4 hours. We recommend that you take snow chains with you.
