MS Manon Moselle Hiking Bike Boat Cochem Koblenz Route plan

Deep in the west, where the sun shines huge, red and round around every single bunch of grapes – that’s where the captain and crew invite you to celebrate!

Wine, forests, paths, meadows and the warm hospitality of the people in the pretty slate towns along the river await you on this tour. Climb the gentle heights of the Moselle Wine Trail above Cochem and around the proud fortress of Thurant above Alken on the Moselle.

This castle with its two (!) keep towers is something very special in the eternally contested borderland on the Rhine and Moselle: it belonged simultaneously to the two archbishoprics of Cologne and Trier, which had been at loggerheads for many centuries. Destroyed and dilapidated during the Palatinate War of Success, it reflects the history of this ancient land like hardly any other hilltop castle on the Moselle.

Set off to explore Cochem, Alken and the wine trail. Enjoy the evenings on board and the wine in your hands. Welcome to Koblenz, the Deutsches Eck, the Rhine and the most beautiful of its daughters – la Mosella.

Your ship: The MS Manon

A relaxed and cozy atmosphere awaits you on board the premium ship MS MANON. Relax after your bike ride in the small inviting wellness area with sauna, whirlpool and fitness equipment. Enjoy your rest in the library or relax in the panoramic salon.

In the restaurant with panoramic view, the kitchen and crew will take care of your physical well-being. On the spacious sundeck, where the bikes are also stored, you can enjoy the view. A special highlight is the outdoor pool (8.70 m x 4.50 m, approx. May to August, weather permitting) at the stern of the ship….

A book corner, a small store and a massage parlor complete the offer. On the spacious, partially covered sun deck, there are plenty of sun loungers at your disposal.

On-board language: German & English

Please note:

Timetables and programs are subject to change without notice. If, for example, a route cannot be sailed due to low water, high water or bad weather, the skipper reserves the right to change the route for your safety (this is not a free reason for cancellation). The same applies to lock and/or bridge repairs ordered by the authorities and not announced in advance. Please also keep in mind that your riverboat is on the one hand your “vacation hotel”, but on the other hand it is also a piece of working equipment that moves with engine power and has to be operated constantly, even at night (partly with lock and bridge passages). We recommend that guests who are particularly sensitive to noise bring earplugs. The lock passages are associated with disruptions – this is the case with all Danube cruises – and unfortunately cannot be changed.

Please note: at low tide, the pool may need to be emptied to reduce the draft of the vessel and will not be available.

This trip is not suitable for people with reduced mobility. We recommend that you take out international health insurance and travel cancellation insurance.

Trips

Integrated into the program, we offer you an optional small excursion program. Please book and pay your participation directly on board. You will receive a brief description with your travel documents. Depending on the composition of the participants, the excursions may be offered bilingually German-English.
