The Norwegian winter landscape with its mountain panoramas and deep snow-covered forests is beautiful. With a cross-country skiing tour you have the opportunity to experience all this intensively and enjoy the tranquility there in the north.
The Troll trail is marked throughout and runs through the untouched and endless nature of Høvringen and Rondane National Park, across the fells of Ringebu to Lillehammer, the former Olympic city.
This magnificent tour will captivate experienced cross-country skiers.
You can use a map and compass and are equipped for all weather conditions. We will take care of your luggage and all evening coziness.
In the evening, cozy hotels or inns await you with a sauna and a rich dinner. You will spend one night in a cabin of the Norwegian Trekking Association.
Luggage transport from accommodation to accommodation is included in the tour price. Only on day 6 and 7 you will have to take some of your own luggage for the overnight stay in the hut.
Transportation from Oslo airport to Høvringen by bus and from Lillehammer back to Oslo airport by train is included in the tour price. Please note the times indicated under Arrival & Transfer for transportation.
Requirements/distance
> This tour is suitable for very well experienced cross-country skiers.
> You must know how to use a map and compass and be prepared for all weather conditions.
> The trails are mostly groomed, but there are also routes that are not groomed or sometimes icy.
> The trip is not suitable for persons with reduced mobility. Please contact us for detailed information if required
Equipment
> For cross-country skiing we recommend the wider touring skis with half steel edges.
> You can rent the cross-country skiing equipment from us (incl. return transfer). Please specify when booking.
Arrival / Transfer
Included in the tour price is the following transfer to and from Oslo Gadermoen Airport:
> Arrival: Departure Oslo Gardermoen train at 14:30, arrival Otta 17:35; transfer to Høvringen by hotel bus/taxi
> Departure: Lillehammer – Oslo Gardermoen: Departure train every hour (travel time approx. 2 hours).
Arrival and departure times other than these regular times only on request. Please coordinate your flight times with us before booking your flight so that they match the train and transfer times!
Arrival by car / ferry
If you would like to travel to Olso by ferry, the Colorline ferry mini-cruise from Kiel to Oslo is a great option.
We will be happy to make you a package offer for the trip including ferry crossing.
