Three countries – one path: 40 years of the Lake Constance Cycle Path!

Since 1983 it connects Germany, Switzerland and Austria with cycling friends from all over the world. Unbroken, it enjoys great popularity as one of the most popular cycling routes in the world. Congratulations Lake Constance!

The route of the is mostly flat and runs mostly away from car traffic. On this bike tour around Lake Constance, you will ride through nature reserves, visit the largest waterfall in Europe, the Rhine Falls, and culturally rich cities such as Meersburg, Constance and Stein am Rhein. Not to be missed, of course, is a visit to the flower island of Mainau, one of the most popular German vacation destinations.

Lake Constance Experiences!

You will receive a Lake Constance Experience Package with this bike tour around Lake Constance. The includes a museum admission, a coffee / tea & cake – break, an ice cream experience and a wine tasting.



You will stay in selected hotels of 3*** or 4**** category. All rooms have bathroom, shower and toilet.


Every day a rich cyclist breakfast buffet is included.

If you book the option ‘half board’, your package also includes 4 x 3-course dinners in the hotel or partly out of the house at all overnight destinations except in Bregenz and in Friedrichshafen.

The route

You will ride mainly on flat and paved bike paths away from car traffic. The 6 daily stages are between 35 and 64 km. In total, you will be about 270 – 300 km on the bike.

Please note: The trip is not suitable for persons with reduced mobility. Please contact us for detailed information if needed.

Rental bicycles

Robust touring bikes (German quality bikes of the brand Kettler & Schauff): 7 gears with hub gears and coaster brake or 21 gears with derailleur gears and freewheel, comfort saddle, 28 inch with different frame heights, saddle bag rental and 1.5 l mineral water at bike handout in Bregenz.

If you are taller than 1.90 m or smaller than 1.60 m, we will ask for wheels with a 66 frame or 26 inch wheels for you.

Electric bikes: 8-speed gears (freewheel); only 21 kg own weight! daily range between 60 and 80 km (depending on weight / height of the customer and setting of the assistance); suitable for body heights from 1.60 m – 1.90 m; bookable on request

Own bikes

Bringing your own wheels on your at your own risk is possible. For possible damages etc. on the own bike during the whole bike trip as well as during transport trips can not be liable.

For your own safety, we recommend that you always wear a bicycle helmet on all bicycle tours.


Car / Parking

You can park in the public “Parking lot West” at the stadium against payment on site. The parking lot is about 15 minutes walk from the center and the Infopoint. Unfortunately, a reservation is not possible.

Alternatively, please park in the public, central underground car park at the Pfänderbahn . For this purpose, please select the option ‘parking garage’ when booking.

Individual arrival in Bregenz (A) :
Day 1

Individual arrival in Bregenz (A)

Arrival in Bregenz to our Info-Point; handing out of the bikes and information about the bike tour ahead.

Overnight stay in a 3*** hotel in Bregenz (e.g. Hotel-Gasthof Lamm, Hotel Ibis).

Note: During the festival season, season 4, 17.07. – 18.08. Due to the festival in Bregenz, accommodation can partly be provided in places close to the lake in the immediate vicinity (e.g. Wolfurt, Dornbirn or Hard).

Bregenz - Romanshorn (CH) :
Day 2

Bike tour Bregenz – Güttingen or Romanshorn (CH), approx. 45 km

First you drive through the nature reserve Altrhein to Staad and the Schweitzer village Rorschach via Arbon and Egnach to Romanshorn/Güttingen. Passing Rorschach you will reach Arbon with its Gothic old town and the beautiful castle tower.

Overnight stay in a 3*** hotel in Arbon (e.g. Hotel Frohsinn or equivalent) or in a 4**** hotel.

Romanshorn - Singen :
Day 3

Bike tour from Romanshorn – Singen or Reilasingen, approx. 62 km

Along the way you will pass beautiful parks and (free) lidos, then continue along the Untersee to Gailingen/ Ramsen.

Overnight stay in 3*** hotel in Gailingen/ Ramsen or in 4**** star hotel.

Rhine Falls Schaffhausen :
Day 4

Round trip to the Rhine Falls Schaffhausen or “bike free & recreation at the lake” (CH), approx. 32 km

On the right (German) bank of the Rhine you will reach the German enclave of Büsingen as well as Schaffhausen and can visit the Munot fort designed by A. Dürer, the magnificent old town and the Rhine Falls, the largest waterfall in Europe.

Overnight stay as on the previous day.

Constance / Kreuzlingen, approx. 33 - 53 km :
Day 5

Bike tour Gailingen / Ramsen – Constance / Kreuzlingen, approx. 33 – 53 km

Today you will cycle over the Höri peninsula to Radolfzell and on to Allensbach; then you will cycle to the monastery island of Reichenau with its beautiful, partly Romanesque monastery churches. Your bike tour around Lake Constance continues via Wollmatingen and into the center of the old council city of Constance.

Constance / Kreuzlingen - Friedrichshafen :
Day 6

Bike tour Constance / Kreuzlingen – Friedrichshafen (D), approx. 34 km + 1 ferry ride

The first stage today takes you to Wallhausen. On the way you have the opportunity to visit the flower island Mainau. By ferry we go to Überlingen and continue via Meersburg along the lake via Immenstaad to Friedrichshafen (customs office building in the middle of the park, castle church, Zeppelin museum).

  • TIP: Due to the short daily stage, an excursion to the pile dwellings in Uhldingen is worthwhile (+ 10 km).

Overnight stay in a 3*** hotel in Friedrichshafen (e.g. Hotel Comfort or equivalent).

Friedrichshafen - Bregenz (A) :
Day 7

Bike tour Friedrichshafen – Bregenz (A), approx. 36 km bike

Past beautiful resorts like Nonnenhorn, through the Argenmündung nature reserve (detour along the Argen to Laimnau + 18 km) to the island town of Lindau.

Today you will return to the starting point of your bike tour, the festival town of Bregenz.
