Short vacation on the Moselsteig: In 5 days from France to Trier

5 Days

Your trip

You would like to hike the upper Moselle valley?

Great idea: The upper Moselsteig in the three-country corner a real insider tip!

Enjoy the upper Moselle valley on wonderful hiking days between lovely wine villages, wide meadows and steep mountain slopes between Eifel and Hunsrück. Enjoy the Mosel hospitality at every turn.

A fabulous combination of panorama, nature and culture offers the top quality hiking trail along the German-Luxembourg border. From the border triangle, you will explore the enchanting landscape of the Moselle and Saar rivers along ancient Roman roads all the way to Trier.

The friendly metropolis on the Moselle attracts visitors with its lively old town and a Roman World Heritage Site consisting of the Porta Nigra, the Imperial Baths and the Amphitheater, which hardly any other city in Germany offers. But Trier is also the city of Trier Cathedral and the birthplace of Karl Marx.

Please note: In this short variant of the tour, the last two stages are omitted: The circular hike around Trier, marked with (6) on the map and the detour on the Eifelsteig into the Kyll-Tab to Kordel (7). These two stages are only included in the full tour, the 7-day variant 194a .

Accommodation

You will stay in real Moselan, regionally typical, very good middle class hotels of the 3*** category – always with their own wine magic.

Catering

Daily breakfast buffet or extended breakfast included.

The daily routes lead on good hiking trails through beautiful nature. Fantastic views accompany you at every turn. What you need to bring is a good basic level of fitness. The longer stages can be shortened by public transport.
