The Allgäu with its lakes, mountains and castles invites you to dance – cycle from Munich to Lake Constance always accompanied by a breathtaking panorama of the Alps.

You will enjoy the almost untouched nature of this region and drive next to blooming meadows, through quiet forests and lush fields along rivers and numerous lakes. You will use well-known bike paths, visit the famous royal castles, Allgäu churches, historic marketplaces and interesting museums.

Thus, in addition to the charm of pure nature, this bike tour also offers you the highest Bavarian culture.

Accommodation & Catering

You will stay in hotels of 3*** and 4**** category. A rich cyclist breakfast is included daily.

The route and its requirement

You are on a moderately difficult tour with plenty of opportunity to take a break. The hilly foothills of the Alps with the beautiful panorama of the Alps and idyllic lakes let you really enjoy the small ascents and descents.

Cycling is on beautiful bike paths and small side roads, main roads only on short sections. The route is mainly asphalted, some longer sections are also on well passable natural roads.

The 5 daily stages are between 25 and 65 km. In total you will be about 250 kilometers on the saddle.

The trip is not suitable for persons with reduced mobility. Please contact us for detailed information if needed.

Rental bicycles

Sturdy unisex touring bikes, 7 speeds with hub gears and coaster brake or 21 speeds with derailleur and freewheel (please choose when booking), comfort saddle, 28 inch with different frame heights. On request also 21-speed men’s bike possible.

Rental bike PLUS: the sportier option! High-quality equipment, for example, with 27-speed Shimano Deore XT gears, Magura brakes HS 11 and Suntour suspension fork.

Electric bikes: unisex bikes with electric pedal assistance up to 25 km/h; 8-speed gears with freewheel; range approx. 120 – 180 km (depending on riding style).

Own bikes

It is possible to bring your own bikes, but at your own risk. For possible damages etc. on the own bike during the whole bike trip as well as during transport trips can not be liable.

For your own safety, we recommend that you always wear a bicycle helmet on all bicycle tours.

Arrival

Travel by train to Munich. Rent a rental bike. Get on vacation at home and get there and back stress-free.
Alternatively, you can of course come to Munich with your car and leave it there near the starting hotel. Detial information you will receive shortly before the trip.

Car/ Parking

Hotel garage from approx. € 15,- / day; payable on spot, no reservation possible/ necessary. There is also mostly free, unguarded parking available near the hotel.

Return transfer

> There are good train connections from Lindau to Munich. Please book your return transfer yourself. If you are traveling with your own bikes, do not forget to order a bike ticket for the train.

At the starting hotel you will receive all information about the trip and the rental bikes, if you have booked any. and wheel output.

The capital of Bavaria awaits you and invites you to visit the numerous sights (English Garden, City Hall, Hofbräuhaus,…).

Day 2

From Munich, the tour starts with a drive through Forstenrieder Park to Lake Starnberg. Afterwards, the bike path leads you directly along the lakeshore to Seeshaupt.

Cycling along beautiful paths through quaint Bavarian villages, past the Osterseen and Riegsee lakes, you will reach Murnau am Staffelsee.

Day 3

The second day on the bike takes you first through the nature reserve Murnauer Moos (largest moor area in Central Europe) and the “Altenauer Moor”.

After the impressions of this untouched nature you will get to know the epitome of Bavarian Rococo, the Wieskirche, and as the highlight of the day you will be enchanted by the royal castles Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau.

From the former scene of Bavarian royalty, today you cycle further along the Forggensee to Hopfen am See. This area impresses especially with its seven large as well as numerous smaller lakes. With a fascinating view of the Allgäu Alps, Zugspitze and Tannheimer Berge, the route leads through fields and meadows to Nesselwang.

Day 5

At the start of today’s stage it gets a bit hilly, but the beautiful alpine panorama more than compensates for the minor effort. You pass the Rottachsee lake and relax as you ride downhill to Immenstadt (beautiful town with good gastronomy) and further along the Großer Alpsee lake to the day’s destination, the Schroth spa town of Oberstaufen.

Finally, you will cycle through the scattered farms and villages that are so typical of the Allgäu landscape to the beautiful Lake Constance. Arriving at the lakeside promenade of the pretty town of Lindau, you should not miss a tour of the island, the Old Town Hall as well as the proud patrician houses with their impressive murals.

Is there a child discount or family discount?

Yes! If you are working with min. two full-paying guests, you can take children with you in a shared or double room with an extra bed under the following conditions:
– Children 0 to under 6 years: 100%
– Children 6 to under 12 years: 50%, please book as “Child 1”.
– Children 12 to under 16 years: 25%, please book as “Child 2”.
